Weather Blues

I'm not looking forward to this week's weather...it's all gonna go shaffernakerz! Rain, snow and wind all at the same time and in different places. One thing that won't be pleasant is cycling to work at 4-wet-am. Yes, I start that early...(well, 5am). Any sign of spring? Not as far as the weather goes, not yet...only the buds on the trees and that's about it. It's still February!

You want to be careful with your extremities when your cycling in that lycra, they'll be going blue and dropping off-- brass monkeys weather.

Mind you, at least you don't have to contend with shredded hawthorn hedges in London. That Slime stuff is useless at sealing inner tubes (in my experience)

Anyway, back to the price of eggs: There are some snowdrops out now... Launde Abbey in Leics and Hodsock Priory in Notts-- much later than normal though. Shows spring is not far away, even though it was only 4C round my neck of the woods today!

It didn't feel that bad on Saturday when I took the dog out. No breeze so there wasn't a wind chill effect [9C on Sat, 5C today].

I've seen the same as everyone else...snowdrops and some buds on the trees. It seems that the snow is melting quicker than before, so perhaps the sun is gaining power at last?! Hope so anyway!

Best wishes all

Indeedy so Peter, March 20th in fact-- that's when the vernal equinox is-- also the month when the sun really starts to gain height in the sky (and the daylight hours draw out)
